IDEA will pursue its vision by highlighting the intimate relationship between democracy and education. Our vision will be materialized in a world in which democracy goes beyond voting rights and creates an environment that offers citizens the means to gain the knowledge necessary to make informed and intelligent choices that will promote the public good.
We seek a world in which democracy is established beyond a mere political system into a global ethical value. We plan activities that will focus on understanding the philosophies of beliefs and by critically questioning them in order to make them useful for each era. We will take into account scientific, technological, cultural, and philosophical developments to meet the needs of changing times.
The intimate relationship between democracy and education and the way that they feed each other is a profound subject that requires analysis and utility of their effective interactions. In IDEA, we plan to use merits of democracy for advancing education in democratic countries and search for ways to develop educational tools to enable the society to make the transition to democracy.
Dr Cyrus Kangarlu established IDEA in 2015 and has since been building infrastructure for its communication with the world including TV studios, production teams, and a board of trustees to oversee IDEA’s activities. He has able to draw tremendous attention to the ability of IDEA to impact current and historic conditions and create enthusiasm in IDEA’s approach in empowering people about their participation in the democratization process in every country.
